When is the East Shore Team presenting on this? They should not be allowed to sneak this by us. In addition, we should not allow them to do this until they fix the flooding issue of Tuttle Brook and Morris Coves overflow drain that the City just let collapse. If you have a mortgage on your home, and you live in a flood zone. Wait til you see your new bill. Mine went from $1800 to 6500. Tuttle brook is the issue. Lets make NH fix it before we allow them to make it noisier too.
Why is this such a silent discussion by the City? Where is the ESMT and our Alderman.

We started an on-line petition on this issue: http://www.change.org/petitions/state-senator-martin-looney-stop-the-expansion-of-tweed-new-haven-airport Please sign & share. There are folks working on setting up a public hearing.
There's also a Master Plan out there somewhere - haven't seen the updated version, but the original was done in 2002.
Check out these notes from the airport's board meeting: http://www.flytweed.com/files/March_Minutes_2013.pdf. They're looking to purchase property on Dodge Street to expand beyond their footprint!!!

I have had several conversations with the ED at Tweed and Sal DeCoala. It is clear they would like this to get brushed under the rug. For me it came up around my flood insurance going from $1800 a year to $6800. I asked Sal to take up doing flood mitigation on the Creek. It is Tweed that caused the vast majority of the flood problems when they turned marsh into asphalt. I went to the last meeting where Tweed presented. It was a total sales pitch. Offering to take the few people at the EMST meeting on a bus tour of Tweed and discussion about "sound proofing". When I spoke, you could tell Larson was not happy when I stated this was a beach "outside" community and soundproofing a couple homes was not acceptable. In fact, I through in the "good neighbor" idea about taking care of the flooding issue, and he said that was not his problem. I have asked EMST to have a meeting on this issue. They are not responding to my emails. Mr. DeCola has stopped answering my requests.
I was the only voice at the meeting. The Tweed was filled with color photo handouts about the decibels and the "few houses" that would be effected.
I am behind the attorney issue. I am not fully employed but am happy to help where I can. That said, I think we should wrap in the flooding problems that Tweed has created. It too is going to have a huge impact on the value of our homes or ability to sell them. The new flood law is no guarantee in this political environment and the City, Tweed, State and Rep. DeLauro and Blumenthal should be assisting us. The money is there. It simply needs to be applied for. And frankly, my tax dollars should have some power. Morris Cove taxes are a good chunk of the City's budget.
