Fix the flood issue and then maybe we can talk about Tweed, but they are going to make it noisier and flood our properties. Not letting this one by. I have raised this with Sal, he seems unresponsive.

I have asked for this to be discussed at ESM and they are ignoring me. Someone else want to take it up? I think the public hearing was nice, but it did not deal with our issues on the East Shore...Tweed, flooding...the value of hour houses going down, speeding...NO TWEED sorry. not happening

More pavement at Tweed means more flooding in Morris Cove. Say no to Tweed unless they fix the FEMA map issue. It is there job. We pay the taxes for Tweed. I am not getting hit with higher flood because of the creek while they expand and increase the run off. No way.

There's also a Master Plan out there somewhere - haven't seen the updated version, but the original was done in 2002.

The only way to be heard is to have a group of people hire an attorney to fight it. People must put their money together to fight or they will be overwhelmed by the forces that support the expansion, no matter what impact it has on the quality of life in the Cove. Fight or move--- that will be the only choice.

Yes, if we get a number of people willing to commit to retaining an attorney. I will do the research in anticipation of it.

I think that most people will want to know estimated price tag before committing!

Who can get ESMT to have a real meeting about this. I am getting no response. Can someone put together something I can hang on telephone posts or put on cars in the area. People simply do not know. Can we get the press involved?

I have had several conversations with the ED at Tweed and Sal DeCoala. It is clear they would like this to get brushed under the rug. For me it came up around my flood insurance going from $1800 a year to $6800. I asked Sal to take up doing flood mitigation on the Creek. It is Tweed that caused the vast majority of the flood problems when they turned marsh into asphalt. I went to the last meeting where Tweed presented. It was a total sales pitch. Offering to take the few people at the EMST meeting on a bus tour of Tweed and discussion about "sound proofing". When I spoke, you could tell Larson was not happy when I stated this was a beach "outside" community and soundproofing a couple homes was not acceptable. In fact, I through in the "good neighbor" idea about taking care of the flooding issue, and he said that was not his problem. I have asked EMST to have a meeting on this issue. They are not responding to my emails. Mr. DeCola has stopped answering my requests.

I was the only voice at the meeting. The Tweed was filled with color photo handouts about the decibels and the "few houses" that would be effected.

I am behind the attorney issue. I am not fully employed but am happy to help where I can. That said, I think we should wrap in the flooding problems that Tweed has created. It too is going to have a huge impact on the value of our homes or ability to sell them. The new flood law is no guarantee in this political environment and the City, Tweed, State and Rep. DeLauro and Blumenthal should be assisting us. The money is there. It simply needs to be applied for. And frankly, my tax dollars should have some power. Morris Cove taxes are a good chunk of the City's budget.

We need to have a meeting. No one is responding to these comments from the City. Did you notice that? They don't want us to get going on this. We need to get some energy going.

The City is dumping the rain/drain overflow into the Creek so Dean does not flood. Have it on good knowledge. If they let us flood the neighborhood would be up in arms and the flood mitigation monies would have been used to protect us from the Creek. The Seawall is not the threat to the neighborhood. It's the Creek Tweed moved around. Now with waters rising in the ocean, so is the threat from the Creek.

Rachel when is the next meeting. Mayor Harp came to the EMST meeting "unannounced" last night. Hmmmm. How can I help. I was out of town on the meeting day.

Tweed is holding community meetings tonight (Wednesday, May 20) & tomorrow night (Thursday, May 21) at 6 p.m. at the airport. FYI, their board meeting notes that they're talking about expansion to 7,200 linear feet of runway!!!
