I live around the corner from you. I hear it, too, but let’s remember that it’s Independence Day week and people are allowed to set off legal fireworks. I’m assuming that’s the bulk of what we’re hearing.

As far as I know the legal fireworks do not make much noise they are more of the sparkling kind.

Some of the legal ones do make multiple popping sounds as they go off. Also M150s, commonly known as salutes, can be made to sound much louder if set off in a metal container. I'm just suggesting possibilities, not denying the likelihood that people are setting off illegal fireworks. However, I don't recall anyone reporting that they are seeing bombs "bursting in air" which would be a telltale sign.

I do not think salutes are legal in Connecticut. Maybe no one is reporting bombs bursting in air is because they are busy doing other things then looking out the window.

Well, I acknowledge that I’m only one person, but on occasion over the past 5 days or so, I have looked out - from ground level as well as my third floor - several times and not seen anything. I am no expert on the legality of salutes in CT, and do not possess any, so I can’t speak to that.

Salutes as well as bottle rockets are both illegal in Ct. Also a lot of legal fireworks do make loud noise. Just an FYI. Hope everyone has a fun, safe and enjoyable 4th of July!!

You don't have to be a legal expert to use Google. Straight from the CT website: All fireworks are illegal in the State of Connecticut, with the exception of sparklers and fountains. The Office of the State Fire Marshal reminds Connecticut residents that state law defines sparklers as non-explosive, non-aerial devices that contain less than 100 grams of pyrotechnic mixture.

The ONLY legal fireworks are SPARKLERS and FOUNTAINS.

Neither one makes any kind of loud noises.

Needsomesleep, you are right on the 11 o'clock news they just mention that the only legal fireworks are sparklers and fountains. HeeBoo where did you get your information?

The firework boxes sold in Stop and Shop( the little groundtanks make. A screaming noise when the sparkles are coming out), the FW tents and stores that are everywhere. I did say noise, I should have added like screaming, whistling and popping, but nothing compared to a salute or an m80.

It is Forth of July week this happens every year i would suggest that you deal with it. From all comments made on here you are the only person who upset. If this upsets hou so much wait until New Years eve when they set them off at midnight.
