No. It would only take a few minutes for the responsible department/company to adjust the traffic light so that it would say red on all sides for more than 3 seconds. I don’t understand why this is such a problem to accomplish!

Something will be done if people advocate for their needs. Have you tried calling NHPD Officer Hartman, or the NH Register city desk about this? They might feature a story about the conditions here.

Nothing done yet!! I wish that someone would the appropriate department would meet me on the corner of Chapel and Ferry at 5 pm and try to cross that intersection with me. Perhaps then they would see who difficult it is for pedestrians, and perhaps they could even consider putting cameras in that area. Nine out of ten cars speed, and I do mean speed, and most go through red lights! I just don’t understand why the City officials don’t care about this issue – as I said before, someone needs to get maimed or killed before they would take a look at this situation. Thank you.

still nothing done. I was almost mowed down by a pick-up truck last week. I waited for the light on my side to turn to green so I could start crossing Ferry. I was almost in the middle of the street, when a white pick-up truck from almost a block away came barrelling through a red light that was probably yellow when he was down the block. He had to swerve to avoid hitting me. A good thing no cars were yet in the intersection probably because he would have killed me or plowed into another vehicle. He was going so fast (more than 40 mph), I couldn't even get a partial marker number. I guess there will have to be a tragedy before something is done. Also, the stop sign at the corner of East Pearl and Front Street is a joke. I was crossing the street when a car didn't stop at all. Good thing I had a big tote bag in front of me - the driver actually grazed the bag! Again, not even slowing down, going like a bat out of hell through the sign. I find that most drivers going through New Haven are really bad, but Fair Haven is the worst!
