The walking trails around O'Brien Lake and Monkman Park need to be sanded.
In the photograph there is bare ground but most of the paths on the trails are glare ice. The walkways were plowed but not sanded on Monday Feb 22. We are retired and need to have a walk every day. We can not afford to fall and we don't deserve to be house bound.
    Thank you.

O'Brian Lake and associated parks and paths. This was brought this to your attention before Xmas. The walk ways were sanded once at this time. Since through all the freeze thaw cycles there has been no sanding. So during our 3 km walk today with very icy conditions there one small inagaquate 30 foot stretch of sand the rest of the walk ways were glassy. It is so sad that The City of Grande Prairie is saving money on reduceded sanding by employees or upper management there is a failure to look after the retired of Grande Prairie all be it small group. I think it is time to seek out my Mayor or a city Councillor if this isn't addressed.

The trails around O'Brien Lake and Monkman Park are treacherous. They were plowed but no sand was applied.
The trails are partially bare but are still 50% iced and for those who want to walk daily are finding it difficult to do especially those people who are 60 years and older.
We are very surprised that sand wasn't applied when ploughing snow as the trails were bad but then became glazed.
    Thank you.

NW corner of the Pinnical and 108 Street intersection is all mud it has no pavement or cement sidewalk. The curb is broken. With the least amount of rain (2.5 mm) as of two days ago it was dry then becomes an instantaneous mud hole.
School children, mothers with toddlers and baby carriages are forced to walk in the mud.
Myself I walk on top of the curb which is broken, muddle and slippery.
I am a 62 year old male who uses this route twice daily from Late February till the end of October.
I can see myself slipping and falling when ever there is even small amount of moisture.
    Thanks.

At Monkman Park the south entrance has signage and bags as in the photo.
The East and West entrances have none.
We witness dogs being walked with no lease and allowed to defecate where they want and then the owners don't pick it up.
The park is well used by families and children.
