Crew can't empty recycling toters that have any contamination such as plastic bags, styrofoam and unrinsed cans with food particles on them. Here's a link to our recycling page with Whats In What's Out information on recycling: https://www.newhavenct.gov/gov/depts/pw/trash/recycling.htm If you'd like to ask if an item can be recycled in collection check the tool found here:http://www.recyclect.com. Thanks for reporting. We will address.
Miguel- Looks like you may have put plastic bags in the blue recycling toter. The crew can't empty the toter because plastic contaminates it. If you take plastic bags out and they still don't empty perhaps there is other contamination. Check the link we provided in acknowledgement above. If plastic is removed they will empty toter. Thanks
Recycling was picked up. Issue closed. If you need to report another issue please submit to See Click Fix or call Department of Public Works at (203) 946 - 7700. Thanks.
