As you can see the power line is completely taut. The hurricanes will be coming and the branch could exhert much more force during such a storm with the leaves still on the tree.

Finally, I'm in front of the WCHS parking lot. The half of Mitchell Dr in front of my house is closed off for other work, so right now would actually be a perfect time to cut it down: this side of the street is already coned off, and the school year hasn't started yet.
