It is my understanding that this has been going on for over a year. I have seen several posts over the last few months and the encampment still exists. It seems our area, Hillcrest Estates, has seen an increase in criminal activity. I wonder if the encampment is part of that problem? When can we expect to see a resolution. What can we do to help get this resolved?
Friday I saw and reported a woman, approx 5'6"blond hair in a pony tail, jeans and a tank top, coming from in front of 1212 Delwood. She put an Amazon package on top of a very full grocery cart. She tried to pull it with a bike that was tied to the cart. She took off down Columbus towards this encampment. I reported this to 911 and CSS. I wonder if their presence can be tied to the rise is break ins and package thefts in our area.
Kathy, the property along Columbus between Aragon and Devlin is managed by Twin Oaks in Benicia. There is a sign on that property viewable from Devlin Street. I've contacted George Oaks and he says he walks the property weekly and has never seen an encampment. Maybe it would help if other people contacted him.
