Discouraging to hear the homeless encampment is active again. My house was broken into three times over the past five years. The last time I almost had a heart attack,walking in thinking I caught them in the middle of it. Police officers told me to get a dog. The dogs are now getting killed. Worried about mine being left in the backyard. I hope the city addresses this issue before it gets worse. I've been concerned about fires also, propane tanks being used in the encampment. Please help us!

This is still an ongoing issue. There are still homeless people living in this area. Please resolve!!!

I have tried to get CVS to pick up their carts, but the carts, plus others, have been out there a month. Now trash bags, old chairs, car parts are there, too. Columbus Parkway shrubs need trimming, squatters helped out and trash picked up. Can Conservation Corps be assigned as in the past if Code Enforcement is understaffed?

Drove by last night and there is a large homeless encampment on Columbus between Aragon and Greenmont Streets. Lots of shopping carts, garbage, bicycles, etc. Our homes are cars are being broken into more frequently. Mail stolen. I have tried to contact the property manager for the area along Columbus Parkway between Aragon and Devlin and he says that he walks the property weekly and that there is no encampment, BUT there is. I feel like putting him on blast and posting his name and number here so that we can all contact him and complain. Get these people out!

Tried to utitlize eTrakit and nothing is listed in the Violations area since 2013.

I was informed that the Community Service Section of the VPD in partnership with the County's joint task force went to the area last week, they did find 3 homeless encampments on the west side of Columbus Parkway between Regents Park and Devlin. They gave them notice and offered them resources, and will be going back out to check tomorrow. Public Works will be engaged to clean up the garbage once they are gone.

Thank you for reporting! The Police Department's Community Service Section (CSS) has opened a case for this issue. CSS has one part-time and three full-time employees who are responsible for addressing all quality of life concerns, supporting Neighborhood Watch groups, and working with the Neighborhood Law Program and Code Enforcement to address distressed and dangerous properties. We work hard to investigate each report in a timely manner, and will investigate this report as soon as we possibly can. Please keep in mind there is a lengthy process to remove illegal encampments.
