The entire alley has tons of deep potholes and has eroded to the point where I can no longer get my car in to my driveway. Having a paved driveway was a selling feature of my house and now I can't even use it. You can see from the picture that the alley may have been paved at one point. My neighbor at 2028 West Main also has a paved driveway and told me that cars can't access his driveway either. Any help would be greatly appreciated

According to the City of Richmond website regarding Alley Maintenance.....
"As with streets, we are responsible for the surface condition of public alleys, which may involve regrading and adding stone, or patching asphalt if an alley is paved."
If it was possible I would have highlighted "adding stone". That is clearly what needs to happen here. Will it take over 100 votes to get something done? It has now been 3 weeks and 2 days since RVA Care Warrior mentioned a plan was being put in place....

I have to say that I have a special fondness for this issue. After all, it's gone 425 days (and counting) without being resolved and has 114 votes (and counting). I'd be kind of sad to see it closed at this point; like losing an old friend.
But, close it we must! This has gone on too long.
According to @RVA:CustomerCampaigner, there are two work orders for this issue:
20020868654
20020909883
Out of curiosity (and because all of the city's boilerplate replies on SCF tell me to), I called the Richmond Customer Care Center at 804-646-7000 and referred to these requests.
Guess what?
They're both closed!
20020868654 was closed on Nov 9, 2012
20020909883 was closed on Sep 5, 2013
So, good people, either this issue is resolved and it can be closed – or someone needs to open a new (!!!) ticket.
@trey, @bev, @sixty: Which is it?

Yeah, agreed: way too many issues are closed without being resolved. Very frustrating.
I'd say that it's best if someone who lives there calls the city (646-7000) and reports this and opens a new ticket. And then add that ticket here. I think it makes sense to keep this open until it's really resolved and not lose the 100+ votes on what is clearly a problem.

@Trey. Here's how this is going to go down:
1. The City will acknowledge your complaint (done).
2. Then another City person will state that their equipment to fix the alley is being repaired.
3. Next the City will repost my comment with my personal email address (not sure why but they don't have anything better to do).
4. Finally, the City will close this request (they've done that with several other alley repair requests) hoping you don't notice.
5. Then the cycle begins again. That's why this has been going on since 2012.
6. Do-loop, rinse and repeat. Good luck!
7. Welcome to See Click Nix where nothing gets done!

@Trey: There are hundreds of alley repair requests on this site. And none of them are being fixed. The City claims their equipment is in need of repair. If you go back in history, you will see that other people are not waiting months, but years (like yourself) with nothing being done.
Potholes are the street are taking priority but they too are not being done in a timely manner. Tires and car alignments are destroyed on a daily basis.
Please call the Mayor today to complain. His number is 646-7970. Don't speak to an assistant. Insist on speaking to the Mayor himself.
Then call 12 on Your Side. Squeaky Wheel Gets The Grease!! Enough is enough!

Wowza! 122 votes! Trey that's a record. If only that virtual voting could help you. Please keep everyone posted as to this alley's progress.
And if the City closes this request, make sure to reopen it!
