This is what Oakland allows.

At about 7:40am on the CBS 5 Morning news program they did a segment on Oakland and Anne Makovec commented about the homeless encampments lining the sidewalks. She said they are "intimidating" to walk past.

Way to go Libby! Way to go Oakland!

Hopefully some city leaders saw that report. It should be done every week until city leaders get a clue. The homeless are breaking laws and no one is holding them accountable. These encampments need to be raided just like OPD would raid a home. What is the difference? If advocates would quit closing their eyes and see the real picture, maybe they'd quit making excuses. Being homeless doesn't give you the right to break the laws and get a pat on the back. Hopefully more news reports will get done.

Occupy will come and disrupt the closing of a drug-infested park, but won't get involved with this....talk about double, two-faced standards

Even more two-faced when you consider that the city threatened the Occupy campers with arrest but only blocks away allowed local homeless campers to have similar camps.
