This morning, within the span of 60 seconds, I saw two really near-misses caused by the same issue. The car(s) coming from Orange assumed the car(s) coming from English had a stop sign. Orange car(s) and pulled out right in front of the English car(s). I can't believe the car(s) coming from English didn't hit the Orange car(s). Could there be a warning sign to the Orange St. traffic letting drivers, cyclists, and pedestrians know that traffic from the right does not stop? Or better yet, perhaps a stop sign, as the traffic on that road is already too fast?

I have received many complaints about this intersection over the years. Because it is a three way intersection and one way has no stop, it is confusing for those lanes of traffic that do have to stop and creates a dangerous driving situation. A similar situation exists at two other intersections of the park: at English and View St and at Farnum and East Rock Road. Until the issue is addressed I don't think it should be closed. Ultimately I think the solution is to either put in another stop sign or at a minimum put a sign up at the other intersections saying that traffic from the other lane does not stop.
