Description
Driving down Beaumont to make a left turn onto HWY 580 Hayward bound A LEFT TURN LIGHT SIGNAL IS URGENTLY NEEDED. Accidents always occur there due to cars being pressured by time. There is not sufficient time to cross over onto HWY 580 Hayward bound because of the high volume of cars on opposite side. Then the high volume traffic perpendicular come on over. This dangerous problem exist in the AM during commute hours 7AM-9AM, 3PM-5PM. However throughout the day it is also dangerous. Accidents have occurred different times and days of the week. It is also not a zone for pedestrians to safely cross over. A large number of residents on that route have to deal with this problem every morning. And every morning I pray that it's not me who gets hit. It's stresses us every morning.

Two comments: Please again look into a traffic light, Hon. Noel Gallo and Oakland Parking Dept., on Beaumont/E. 38th St. There have been numerous car accidents at this intersection and, sadly, it will be only a matter of time before one of the Middle School kids from Brewer or the elementary schoolkids, boarding school buses, from Glenview Elementary are hit in a crosswalk.
As for the Beaumont/580 on-ramp at MacArthur, it dumbfounds me that when planning traffic signals, a left-turn signal was not installed, along with a regular light. Cars race up Beaumont and through yellow lights making a left turn at this intersection precarious at best and life-threatening at worst.

Thank you Merc
I've emailed the mayor office. Emphasizing the negligence of Ade and Philip.
The city has many projects going on such as the BRT project. However Ade and Philip needs to delegate a unit/personnel to dedicate to safety issues that need prioritizing.
Ade (510)238-7272 is out of the office from 12/30/19 until 2/10/2020. Jason Cook (510)238-6103 is handling his calls. I've left him a message.
Taking another route seems like a quick fix. Taking another route is finding another dangerous turn. Either way I arrive at the same situation.
Thank you everyone for voting.
Please share link. It's in the best interest of all even if you don't take this route. The more accidents occurring at this or nearby intersections our Car Insurance policies are calculated at a higher premium. This intersection is definitely going to continue feeding accidents.

Don't worry about Micheal Finney and "7 On Your Side" , it appears they have called an URGENT meeting and there may be a "Priority Work Team" dispatched with an EMERGENCY work order. The City Auditor and Grand Jury are now involved. They DO NOT want anyone to go on camera or make any statements.
There is no explanation of why they destroyed the parklets and killed trees and now have abandoned the project. FYI - They confirmed last Holiday season, that there is NO chip shortage that affects this project. A compelling learning lesson for Edna Brewer Middle School and Oakland High students on dirty city politics, corruption and the dark side of our elected representatives.

This project has been scandal ridden and basically a public safety emergency.
The other parklet next to Edna Brewer is still in shambles and is nothing but dirt and weeds and starting to attract trash. There are two trees left that were not destroyed/ vandalized by the work crews. The Project Manager never shows his face or tries to communicate with the neighborhood, but we have the momentum now and this has been a nightmare for over two years. It took the PTA and Teachers union at Edna Brewer to regain control of this sitution.
The City Auditor will have a field day with this travesty, when the time is right. We will NEVER FORGET and this will not be swept under the rug.
