When going north on Centre and coming into the intersection at Bissonnet, traffic backs up because the length of the green light is too short. Since one lane is left only and the other is left or right optional, many people back up the traffic due to them queueing up on both lanes to turn left. Only about 3-4 cars make it through and most of the time people run that amber and red. If the length of that green is increased to allow more motorist to turn left, it would greatly reduce traffic backup. Not only that, a lot of time is wasted when there's no one at the business on the north side of the intersection. There would be no vehicles there, but they get a green light to go south or turn east on Bissonnet. This time is wasted and could be used to win a sensor to detect vehicles.
