Description

The intersection of 50th Ave and Bancroft Ave has frequent vehicle crashes, some quite serious. One happened this morning, there was another last month, and the month before that a vehicle smashed into a building on the corner causing serious damage. Nearly all crashes involve vehicles travelling West on Bancroft and South on 50th Ave; and all crashes occurr in the Northwest corner of the intersection. Solutions: a stop sign for Bancroft traffic, and/or eliminating street parking at the Northeast part of the intersection in front of the Fire Station for better visibility. These crashes happen very frequently and are obviously and easily preventable.
