Just purely an FYI but the city has online maps available for previous storm water ponding events like Allison and Ike at http://www.gims.houstontx.gov/gims/default.aspx?app_id=gims&app=GIMS&AppID=-1&app=GIMS , for example the attached image was the Woodcrest neighborhood ponding during Allison in 2001. You can see the areas that had significant ponding even back then, and to me it looks pretty close to the exact same places as just yesterday. In other words, this has been happening in the same locations in this neighborhood for at least 17 years during significant rainfall events , and while it is surely getting worse due to additional development, it's been known to the city that it is occurring for at least that long. Point being that while submitting tickets to 311 and getting all those impacted involved in raising the issue, it's likely nothing will really happen unless and until the issue is elevated to at least a city council rep level or higher among multiple neighbors in the Woodcrest, Camp Logan, Cottage Grove , Rice Military, etc.. areas combined.

I can assure you council member Cohn and staff have been aware for quite some time...
