It's hard to be a good cop, for a lot of reasons.. at best it is a very difficult job,, and at worst there is negative peer pressure, PTSD, non-cooperative public,, So cops do need good community support to maintain discipline and connect to the community. That's what 'community policing' was about.. Instead of a police force that was an isolated group of people , community policing means we are all working together, supporting each other. This is what cops need to succeed,, and it discourages the renegades.

As enforcement of this selfish lawbreaking increases, it's important to keep the issue before the public eye. Blatant running of redlights by 3-4 cars -- after it's fully red -- has not decreased. I see it at intersections all over town. Therefore, I keep open this issue in hopes that enforcement increases greatly and to the extent that people obey the law at least because they fear a ticket, not just because it's unsafe, dumb, and wrong.

The NHPD do what they can, but the citizens themselves must ultimately decide to behave (i.e., drive) in a safe manner. This issue remains open until there is some perceptible improvement in NH driver behavior, a glimmer of which I have failed to perceive.
