This is a serious issue, especially with all the children that play in and around the park. This is a facility for playing sports and family activities. Not a public drunk hang out spot. The City should be more responsive to resolving this issue.
Yes, same pic. The alcohol, urination and damaged city cans, human feces, trash, and so forth tend to go hand in hand. Unfortunately, the next morning what remains of the urine is the foul stench and not the puddles themselves.
Kim, I am trying a different approach than just calling the police. I have called sooooo many times. Many times the cops don't even bother to show up, other times they drive by and the guys hide their booze and they don't bother to get out of the car, and occasionally they stop the activity. I have talked with the police chief even. For about a week after there were foot and bike patrols which helped, but those quickly stopped. It does not appear that calling the police is a solution. Maybe they don't have the time and resources to deal with what may be a low priority issue. However, putting this issue out there in a more public forum might bring enough attention to the issue that maybe a more comprehensive approach is utilized to address the problem. That is my goal at this point. I used to call the police on a daily basis but the results were disappointing and ultimately seemed almost in vain.
The more approaches we use, hopefully, the better the result. I agree with Shawn that calling the cops for open container violation has very limited results. Frankly, the cops have more important things to take care of and in the meanwhile, our neighborhood gets trashed.
Shawn.
Thanks for the reply. I am not against any of you. I have had feces, human and animal, urine, prostitution in my side yard and other acts over the years.
I will say that as a 20 plus years resident that many of the quality of life issues are subsiding. It was something else years ago. To some who have not lived her for very long it might seem slow going, however, it is far better than before.

In due time the problem will be a distant memory
