I don't think this qualifies as a "Fix it" problem. Perhaps the person who reported this could have just called the Pacific Island Market, talk to management and let them get it themselves. Stores are fined when someone, other than the store itself, retrieves these stolen carts.

Thank you for reporting! Public Works has one full-time Maintenance worker whose sole job is to respond to illegal dumping reports throughout the City. This person usually makes 2 or more trips to the dump everyday, with each load weighing in around 1,200 pounds. We strive to respond to all reports in a timely fashion. If you see someone dumping illegally please report the incident to the Vallejo Police Department.

Thank you Vince for acknowledgement of this. However, I did not report it. When I see abandoned/stolen carts up here at the Butte Street Stairs, I call the store, (if they have their name on it), I did advise the person that they might try giving the store a jingle next time. My experiences have always been positive and they usually send the company or person they have contracted with, (to collect carts).Those carts are expensive and do carry fines if reported to the city.

I like to add that your guys do a terrific job of getting the job done, now matter what it it. We often clean up dumped trash ourselves and unless there are large items, furniture and/or appliances, don't bother calling as there's more than enough dumping in Vallejo. And really, it is our city too. If everyone would just pick up a few pieces of trash when they see it, the city might start to look cleaner.
