The City of Oakland Public Works Department has received this issue. It is registered as service request #571138. Thank you, in advance, for your patience as we work through a backlog of pothole service requests. Unfortunately the City does not have enough funding to repave all streets in poor condition. With limited funding, our response to resurfacing requests is limited to minor pavement and pothole repairs only. Our Street Maintenance Department will assess your street and determine whether temporary measures might be appropriate. Please understand that this work may be limited to pothole or other minor repairs, and that we have many similar requests. We will do our best to respond in a timely manner. The backlog of streets in Oakland needing pavement currently is $435 million and growing.

This is a huge crater now and not a small hole. A construction no parking sign can fit completely into it, and the city has had one there over a week instead of fixing. Cars are jerking around it towards parked vehicles and oncoming traffic, a nasty accident is waiting to happen. I hit this and now have a broken lower front right control arm that will be over $200 to replace and install. I'm unhappy with the cities lack of response to service reports to keep up the streets here and then you don't compensate me as a tax payer in Oakland for over 30 years now for my damaged vehicle. Fix it!

Placing a construction sign into this now large hole that's been spray painted with a huge red penis isn't addressing the issue. Filling the hole is and not with temporary fill that will turn back into a hole in 2 days. I assume that you all only run out to make repairs when the news crews are there filming. Time to contact channel 2 about this and my damaged vehicle due to this hole.
