As of October 02, 2012, this issue is still unresolved. They keep dumping garbage, mattresses, bags, etc. right there on the sidewalk as if it were a dumping ground.

HUGE pile of the weekend's garbage, out for all to see, smell, & breath...

The SAME HUGE PILE OF THE WEEKEND'S GARBAGE, still out for all to see, smell, & breath. With even MORE crap added to it.

Nice. REAL nice...

Still, the garbage keeps coming... Day in - Day out... Relentless & never ending...

No letup... Ever. They just keep piling it up here - EVERY DAY. Don't know what to do. I've complained, but they do nothing...

Every day... Even on weekends, Sundays, and Holidays. "Luxury Living" continues here in Stuyvesant Town. This issue is nearly TWO YEARS OLD now...

Still - nearly THREE YEARS LATER.... This issue STILL EXISTS. The leave huge amounts of garbage out on OUR sidewalk (no OTHER loops in Stuyvesant Town get this 'GARBAGE STORAGE/DUMP' treatment.... only OURS. I am SICK of it.

Apparently, this issue is just going to go on and on and on - dumping and storing garbage on a sidewalk that USED to be used to WALK on - not STORE GARBAGE on a DAILY BASIS...

I've complained to Dan Garodnik, our councilman, and to Stuyvesant Town management - all to no avail. Some days there are spills. Recently, paint was spilled, and grease, and it all looked just lovely. Grease stains abound on the sidewalk now.

On Mother's Day, I saw people walking their mothers into Stuytown via this 20th St. Loop, and they had to walk right by this mound of garbage. Really so very nice and welcoming.

It's all just disgusting to me. The fact that this USED to be a simple sidewalk, and had now turned into a DAILY, ALL-DAY, DUMPING AREA / STORAGE AREA for GARBAGE.

Wow this is a shame....

The issue finally has gotten better I can report!! After something like "1361 days" (as this site's emails to me tells me...) - BUT - residents seem to have gotten SO USED to garbage having been left out on this sidewalk FOR YEARS NOW, they seem to think it's o.k. to dump garbage here.

Even though MOST OF THE ISSUE IS RESOLVED NOW - whereby the HEAPS OF GARBAGE ARE NO LONGER BEING STORED ON THIS SIDEWALK, at least once, twice, or three times a week, garbage is being left out...

This, of course, has to STOP before I completely close out the issue...

So - I'd say the issue is 90% resolved. They just need to get the garbage from landing there COMPLETELY!

Issue is still only 93% resolved, as recently, garbage bags were left again on the curb as recently as THIS PAST WEEKEND (see photo, taken June 5, 2016).

I came here today to CLOSE this issue, after something like ONE THOUSAND, EIGHT HUNDRED days, but - I just cannot bring myself to do so yet... Once garbage stops COMPLETELY from appearing at this spot, then I will. As it is, garbage - of some kind or another - appears at an average of once per every 10 days. This is obviously MUCH MUCH BETTER than when I first reported this issue, but the issue is still an issue, just not as intensely as it used to be.

Wow, am I ever impressed, since it is now well nigh on FOUR YEARS since you first began posting photos of that sidewalk garbage dump on this site; kudos! On the the other hand (and there almost always is one) all of that posting and complaining about the issue ha gotten pretty much near zero positive reaction from the responsible(?) authorities, so in a sense this has to a large extent been somewhat of an extended exercise in futility. Incidentally, where exactly IS the garbage supposed to be deposited for retrieval by the designated trash pickup service?

Actually, there has been a LOT of progress - due to (ahem..) my diligence on this matter. Numerous, never-ending calls to Stuy Town management (they're the ones responsible to answer your question..) FINALLY gave way to some actual actions taken. - They chose - and built - an official, bonafide 'Holding area' for the trash that they were dumping on the sidewalk.

I must say, it's gotten to the point where I pretty much no longer see the daily deluge I saw when I first started this SeeClickFix issue - - NOW nearly 5 1/2 years ago!

Lesson here is, I guess, keep complaining (what a pain..), and give it - time.

I'm going to monitor over this summer (2017) and see if it's as nice as I'm saying it is...
