Description
I'm writing to request a new traffic light in Greenbriar Dr at the intersection with North Blvd or with Southwest Fwy. It is impossible to cross Greenbriar when you are driving, walking or biking through any of the streets that cross it (North Blvd, Bartlett St, South Blvd). During rush hour, it takes more than five minutes until you can cross. This is because there are no traffic signals to stop the traffic going through Greenbriar Dr. The closest traffic signal to the north is at the intersection with Richmond Ave, and the closest to the south is at the intersection with Bissonnet St. This means that there are no traffic signals on Greenbriar Dr for 0.6 miles. This inconvenient and dangerous situation is also unique to Greenbriar Dr if we compare it to other major streets that are closeby. For example, within those same 0.6 miles between Richmond Ave and Bissonnet St, Shepherd Dr has one traffic signal (at the intersection with Southwest Fwy) and Kirby Dr has two traffic signals (at the intersections with Southwest Fwy and Westpark Dr). A similar traffic light is urgently needed for Greenbriar Dr.

A. I'm submitting this request as an "all lights out" maintenance request because the 311 App doesn't have an option to request a new traffic light.

Pedestrian Crossing analysis determined that an RRFB is needed in order to have an acceptable ped LOS. We have added the intersections of Greenbriar at North & Greenbriar at South to the list of crossing improvements pending funding.
