I think the intent is so that traffic doesn't get backed up on Whitney, which is a major artery to Hamden.
Of course, I think it'd be great if we resuscitated a light rail/trolley line for the Hamden commuters. :-)

Hi B Anderson. Is the light timing still off? If so I will follow up. Whitney Avenue desperately needs traffic calming improvements and there are solutions that wont cost a lot but require the will of the city to think creatively. Thanks for reporting this.
