Please note that we are looking at ways to provide additional pickleball courts in Baytown. We will be taking a look a dual use facilities, however we feel they may present a challenge of usership that we have with tennis courts. Please be patience with us as we look to address the increased interest in pickleball to find ways that allow the usership to grow in spaces that can facilitate the demand.

I am not really understanding your response? How will lining the covered basketball courts for Pickleball interfere with the tennis courts. As of now the tennis courts are lined to use the tennis net. It would be nice to have a place lined where we can bring our own official pickleball nets to play. The covered basketball courts would be the perfect place for now since they are hardly ever used in the morning hours.

Please note that what I was indicating is that we see the problems that currently exist between tennis court users and pickleball users. Because of this we are evaluating potential conflicts combining uses on other courts, and want to fully assess usage of our facilities, before moving forward with dual usage that may lead to conflicts between user groups, use of courts. We are also looking at all alternates in order try and facilitate potential pickleball users with individual courts. Currently, we provide indoor pickleball at the Community Center and at the tennis courts at the Wayne Gray Sports Complex which have been painted for pickleball court usage.
