A week since this issue was posted. 6 to 8 weeks at least, since this 5 ft. high sign was left behind from a construction job. The legs of the sign base take up about 8 ft. x 4ft. of the sidewalk at the crosswalk, surrounding the trash can, next to the mail box, next to the dead tree, in front of the tourist Info center with the flower pots without flowers. And now the mailman has decided to leave his big white plastic mail box on the sidewalk everyday, just adding to the junk, and yet another tripping hazard. A major busy intersection, the Face of New Haven. DIRTY,BROKEN, SO POORLY MAINTAINED, POORLY LIT. And this is just a snap shot of the bigger picture. No leadership, no pride, anyone responsible ? anyone care ?

I asked DPW to look into those signs, though it may be a moot point since the Shubert is about to be under construction and that whole are will be affected. I will inquire about the rest of your concerns. Thanks for posting.

Thanks for trying Matthew, but asking the DPW may also be moot. Don't like being so cynical, but they give plenty of reason. Just need to look around.
