A speed camera would be awesome, the stripes are already painted on the street

Cut Through Commuter Traffic well exceeds safe limits. I have witnessed many accidents involving numerous cars. DC DOT & MPD neglect the AGRESSIVE traffic on 17th St SE, the safety of the residents is in jepoardy 24/7. Does someone have to be killed here before any action to improve the situation?? A resident for 10 years here and nothing done to allieviate this growing problem.

Also what will help is the installations of traffic calming devices (speed bumps) near the crosswalks

I concur, I think a series of speed bumps would effectively control traffic speed.

Agree. My family and I have almost been hit here a few times during the past year. Many Out-of-town commuters & DC drivers neglecting speed limit & traffic rules. Let's solve this soon & not wait until someone gets hurt (like the librarian who got hit in a crosswalk @ Maryland Ave.m 7th St., and D St NE in 2014).
