This is a disgrace.... why is the city allowing this to continue?

Can you imagine if this gets out of hand, and it grows into a block size encampment. I'm sure Smith's Landing will suffer as dinning patrons won't want to pass this mess on the way to dinner.

The City needs to stop wasting time going after the Police & instead focus their attention to the Vagrants and Criminals that are causing the Tax payers & businesses to flee this City.

You ask what is happening to Antioch? Simple, it's our FECKLESS COUNCIL. Lemar and the Council majority want this, plain pure and simple. TBA

I am sure they our feckless council do not want this. I agree they should act sooner and not later. Come on Lamar and Council. Please act. Let us find a safe, clean alternative.

The mayor and council majority absolutely DO want this. People should have read up before they voted. It is just going to get worse.

Debi, you're absolutely right. We met with our new mayor to discuss homelessness prior to any lockdowns related to COVID and as the homeless population in Antioch was growing. Before that we also met with another councilman regarding the same issue. Both expressed no desire to take actions to help rid Antioch of the homeless and both favored solutions that provided more assistance for homeless services like housing, social programs located in Antioch to support our growing homeless population. This is fact. The one councilman is no longer on the Council and was unsuccessful in his subsequent bid. As far as Lamar, just look at what he has proposed. Putting state supplied trailers in our neighborhoods to house homeless, spend taxpayer money to rent hotel rooms for homeless and the list goes on. Yes, our Council does want to increase homeless services and homeless in our community. TBA

I believe this lot is private property. I called the telephone numbers on the for sale sign for the second time to ask that the property owner clean this up. NO RESPONSE. The city needs to cite and fine the owner for allowing this to continue. TBA

Sure we can close our eyes for a resolution and just complain, not in my neighbourhood. We can ask, demand and force the homeless to move. Do we really think that this will resolve this painful issue? Do we realy think that it is only to the City Mayor and Council to resolve this. I personally do not think so. We all have to come together and come with solution.

This meeting is not an Antioch City Council meeting.

The area the vagrants are camped on is private property. I just spoke to the realtor advertising the property and sent him a picture of the vagrants on lot. He advised he would contact the property owner about this mess. TBA
