Per Public Works: The timings have been increased for the inbound turning movement and we will monitor this change to see if it helps some but there are two issues at this intersection, 1) if it is 9:00 dead-on, that is when the intersection change from peak time to off peak time and it takes a couple of minutes for this to complete, so cycle lengths vary randomly through that transition 2) The intersection was designed for the use of both left turn lanes. That is the way it was designed and the timings set by that design. If the outer left turn is used the drivers have 300’ before having to turn into a parking lot. It is a matter of sitting on Glenwood Ave or making the light in the outer left lane and merge into needed lane on Woman’s Club when safe to do so. The City is also currently looking at other alternatives for that intersection. Thank you for your concern with the safe and efficient movement of traffic.
