Descripción

I created issues 5704657 on April 15, 2019 and 6588257 on September 2 to note that, in spite of "No Dogs Allowed" signs on the fence at Davis Street School, dog owners were meeting on Sunday mornings to allow their dogs free run in the yard.

The Health Department immediately closed each of the issues based on the fact that they had "Referred your complaint to the Board of Education, Facilities Management". I responded with a comment that each issue "has not been fixed. It has only been closed."

Today (about 7:30 AM and again at 9:00 AM on Sunday, November 3, 2019) I noticed that the problem is continuing. The dog owners stand near the Fairfield Street gate (where the "No Dogs" sign is posted).

Does the Health Department feel that dog feces in an area where elementary school children will play is OK as long as they have notified the Education Department about the situation? If so, the "No Dogs" sign should be removed. If not, both the Health Department and the Board of Education need to stop the dog owners from doing this.

Even if the Health Department "refers" this matter to someone else, the Health Department should follow up to ensure that the matter is taken care of.
