Unfortunately the City does not have enough funding to repave all streets in poor condition. With limited funding, our response to resurfacing requests is limited to minor pavement and pothole repairs only. Our Street Maintenance Department will assess your street and determine whether temporary measures might be appropriate. Please understand that this work may be limited to pothole or other minor repairs, and that we have many similar requests. We will do our best to respond in a timely manner. The backlog of streets in Oakland needing pavement currently is $435 million and growing.

  Call EBMUD and inquire if the final paving has been done or it is temporary. Also why is oakland 311 responding for the city when it's EBMUD responsibility and what is up with the city having no money? How is this even possible with outrageous home prices and the high incomes we have here? This being the most expensive place to live and people well above average income levels compared to the rest of the country-contributing to personal income taxes and property taxes that we do not have an acceptable infrastructure? Who is doing the budget? The money is not going to our schools where is it going? Please get it together. Please do better.

  I’m not quite sure why they’re just stringing everyone along with “potholes can not be fixed due to budget”. They’ve been saying that since this started being reported months ago! If it’s over your budget at only 5 months into the year perhaps you should make sure they pave it back correctly. Isn’t there a supervisor who comes to check the work?!?!
