As of 5/9/18, some but not all of the infected branches have been removed. The tree appears to be beyond saving (see attached photo). It should be removed immediately to prevent the spread of Dutch Elm Disease to adjacent trees via root grafts and/or Elm Bark Beetles.

A month has gone by with no action taken. The longer the tree stays there, the more likely it is to infect nearby trees.

This tree has now been removed, about 11 months after first reported.
