I run into this problem all of the time as well when I'm riding my bike home from work. While it is really frustrating, I don't think there is a good place for people to drop off/pick up at the Justice Center. Perhaps an area cold be designated by the city on Martin or Davie for this?

Agreed, this problem is persistent amd Wake Co Sheriffs do little to move people along. Actually ticketing them is the onlyway to fix this.

It's happens between 7:30 and 9am every day. If the security guard would be vocal and actually engage with parked cars or if drivers would be forced to take the side streets just before or just after the block in front of the justice center, there are usually open spots for a quick drop off. This is because many cop cars and emergency vehicles don't park for very long and quickly come in and out all day. I imagine cars don't currently do this because their passengers have to walk farther. Also a physical or visual barrier that runs the length of the 300 block of S Salisbury St (with openings at pedestrian cross walks) would prevent cars from parking anywhere along the 300 block in the bike lane. A 1 block longer walk for occasional car passengers would greatly improve the safety of my everyday commute.

I see it almost every day. Sometimes it's even law enforcement themselves and I've also seen LEOs sitting on the benches outside while there are 3 or 4 cars stopped in the bike lane! I see it between 4:30 and 5:00 pm, but it happens pretty much all day too.

There are "No Stopping or Standing" signs, but people either don't read them, ignore them or don't understand that it means you can't sit in the bike lane while you wait for someone to run in the building for a second or wait to pick them up.

The bike lane there is just a poor design. Look at this street view showing a car door blocking the bike lane. It is bad to put a bike lane right up against on street parking. Someday some poor cyclist who thinks the bike lane is safe may end up being thrown into traffic and killed.

Biking to work this morning a Brinks armored truck was parked in the bike lane (this has happened several other times already) with a sedan parked behind the Brinks truck in the bike lane also dropping off a passenger. The security guard out front didn't say anything to the driver of either vehicle and let them park there while I had to jump out into traffic to be able to keep moving down the road.

I also have a problem on this stretch of road. I don't bike at various times of day. It's a problem before work, during work hours, after work, and evening.

What action has the city taken on this issue?

No action as far as I can tell. The security guard stationed outside the courthouse never tells vehicles to move; whether is a car dropping off passengers or a armored truck bringing money in and out of the building he just stands there looking around. When I've confronted him in the past he said I need to complain to his manager or the city and that it wasn't his job to make sure the bike lane was clear. I saw 2 more cars blocking this bike lane this morning that were dropping passengers off.
