You've got to be kidding Dept of PW! This building has been abandoned as well! The owners's rep has stated publicly that they will "get back at the neighborhood by (paraphrase) not doing anything and letting the building bring the neighborhood further into the pits.
This block seems to be sinking into serious blight - see the post about loiterers harassing and threatening pedestrians, drug deals in parking lots, etc.
Now the wrecked car has been stripped of its wheels. If the city doesn't step in, its going to become a permanent ruin to add to the blight that is our ignored block on the city's front doorstep - within view of city hall. Thanks for kicking the can down the road.
The city needs to step in. Abandoned late-model Mercedes in the parking lot of an abandoned & blighted building with apparently a spiteful owner? (Lyon Res - where did you hear this? curious)?
This is an invitation to bring crime to our neighborhood, on a block that is already a stain on the entire neighborhood due to lack of attention by the city (see countless other posts on this topic). Only a matter of time before someone smashes the windows and strips the interior (it's probably worth a few grand).
Were the wheels stolen? Or is someone working on the car? Regardless, this abandoned building is not a licensed repair shop. I know the city would be happy to fine me if I had my car up on jack stands for an extended period on my property, in view of Saint John St.
