Due to a limited number of electricians currently employed to perform street lamp repairs (we currently have 2 electricians and are in the process of hiring 2 more) it will take time to address street lamp issues that have been posted on SCF. We are however, taking a proactive approach to addressing these requests. Please also be aware that we are not currently operating with a night crew, so if you are unable to obtain a pole ID #, please include as much detailed location information as is possible, such as the block the street lamp is on as well as the two cross streets. You can also include street addresses the are close to the street lamp you are reporting about. Thank you.

We are delineating Street Lamp issues that are current and need the city's attention to resolve. If your Street Lamp issue still needs to be addressed, please create a new issue by selecting the Street Lamp service request in SeeClickFix. Providing a pole number and/or a more precise location is important. Once your issue is submitted, the Transportation, Traffic and Parking Department will acknowledge the issue and create a maintenance/repair work order. Thank you.

I originally posted that this street light was out on 1-24-17. It is pole # 7540. Work order # 12531 was created on 3-7-17. No one has come & fixed this problem as of this date 11-17-17. I can sympathize that people are short handed & overworked. The first anniversary of my original complaint is rapidly approaching. I find this quite unacceptable. When United Illuminating took care of the streetlights the most you had to wait was 2-3 weeks. Obviously someone wanted to save the city money by taking over this responsibility. It has been a miserable failure. Streetlight repair is being handled by the people who handle traffic lights. These seem to trump regular street light repair which is logical,but this is ridiculous to have to wait years instead of weeks. There is something quite wrong with this system.
