Thanks - I see one of them has just been removed and another marked for removal. Glad to know you were already on top of this! There's a smaller one right on the corner of Temple St and Elm St which does not seem to have been marked, but which is clearly dead, another at the corner of College and Elm (diagonally across from the green), and one more up on Broadway, near Christ Church...I didn't notice whether these had been marked for removal as well; perhaps these are already on your radar. Hi, just a quick follow-up on the Elm trees. I've noticed that all but one of the dead Elms I reported this summer were removed over the course of the autumn. Thanks very much for your attention to this. I wanted to double-check and make sure you know about the one that is still standing, especially because it is right across from the healthy Elms on the Green. This one is on the north/west side of College Street, immediately to the north of the intersection with Elm Street (see attached photo for location). Is this tree currently scheduled for removal?

In case you want to confirm that the tree is actually dead, here's a Google street view photo from October - you can see that all the other trees nearby still have their leaves...

I saw the notice posted on the tree - does this mean the City has to wait for 10 days now before removing the tree? Does the delay for removal of shade trees still apply if the tree in question is dead? I would have thought that it would become a public safety issue at this point, and therefor not subject to the delay and potential hearing. I don't know exactly when the elm bark beetles hatch, but with the weather warming up, I'm not sure they'll wait another 10 days, let alone the next public shade tree hearing...

The tree was removed this past week.
