I've resided on this block for 10 years and cannot count the number of times I have been within seconds of death if not for my awareness and quick reaction to vehicles not obeying traffic signals and altogether disregarding red lights and pedestrians. A few years ago the signals at 12th and Mass Ave NW were timed to ease congestion, but vehicular traffic has increased significantly. Our neighborhood needs to make use of traffic cameras at numerous intersections where this issue is a problem.
