That building needs to go away. But the owner still pays the taxes on having a building there why??

This building is a concern and has been for a year. We have brought it up more than once to the chair of our neighborhood management team so that it could be recorded in the minutes for our Alder person to also act on. It’s been several months. And now I saw someone in the neighborhood has complained of rats in that area. We were told that LCI has been there, but that was months ago, and nothing has changed. What will it take to get a remedy?

This building I believe is cause for a environmental issue . god knows what’s going on underneath that building that is a health concern especially since its flooded there constantly for decades

A Notice of Violation was sent to the property owner. Staff will follow up on this concern.

Please send an actual violation with a penalty. It is getting worse and will soon be a dump site. Building appears to be ready to collapse as well. The roof already has in one section.

This building is still an issue. Any notices of violation have been ignored.

Is this going to be one of those, “LCI has purchased the property for 40% over market value, turned it into an empty lot, let it sit, and then sell it to an insider for $1”. Situations?

Just condemn the building, fine the owners, foreclose, and sell it on the open market in an auction already. No more back door deals!

Not for nothing but this building for the most part has been an eye sore since the 1970’s truly looks so blight . Knocking it down would be a huge improvement , and thats not a hyperbole

I agree, this should be an active ticket until it’s resolved. There have been complaints about this property for well over a year. Here’s a perfect opportunity for our Alder Sal deCola to do his job and advocate for something to be done about this.

The owner addressed some of the exterior concerns and additional work will continue during the spring
