I went into the office on s. main st to reserve the field behind the municipal building so a private soccer lesson/ practice, I am not affiliated with any organization. I am not employed by i9 but I coach / volunteer a team of kids/ friends on basic soccer skills. When I spoke with Peggy she explained that private citizens could rent out the field. I was told that as long as I had 1,000,000 in liability insurance and pay the fee that I could reserve the field. I called my homeowners insurance company and increased the liability. When I came in person to reserve the field and turn in the required documents I was told that, that would not suffice and that I needed to purchase a general liability insurance policy and that the City of Cibolo needed to be listed as an additional insured on it. That is commercial insurance policy that is mainly reserved for corporations or groups, not individuals. My homeowners insurance covers other individuals on and off my premises. I don’t understand why that requirement exists to rent the multi event field/ complex unless it is not for residents of Cibolo and/or individuals. The other question I have is if it is owned by the city why is additional liability insurance required to rent it and not other fields at other parks like Neimitz Park? Please feel free to reach out to me I am Jaime Aguirre and I can be reached at aguirrejaime11@gmail.com or by phone at 210-643-5773.
