I would again request that the traffic pattern at Baldwin and the 139 be reverted back to its old pattern where North and Southbound traffic have delayed green lights. There was a serious accident at this intersection a few nights ago, and every day I see numerous "close calls." The intersection has become a free-for-all. To remedy, either add turn arrows or change the traffic pattern so northbound and southbound are not proceeding at the same time. Currently it's a huge hazard for motorists, cyclists and pedestrians.

I found this website and left this response. Maybe if others do similar this issue will get looked at.

"Hello,
I'm writing regarding the traffic pattern at 139 (upper) and Baldwin Ave in Jersey City, 07306. Many months ago the traffic pattern going North and South on Baldwin, crossing the 139, was changed. It used to be that the Southbound lane had a green light first, then it changed to red, then the Northbound lanes would get the green. Now they change at the same time. This creates daily hazards for cars, pedestrians, and cyclists. I live at the intersection and see near-accidents daily. Since there is not a green arrow to enter the 139, cars are moving in 4 directions at once on a two-lane road. The road is just wide enough that cars try to sneak by those who are turning left, sometimes moving into the crosswalk.
My request is that the pattern reverts back to its old iteration, or, install left-turn arrows at this light. Either of these would fix what is truly a major safety hazard. I have reported this twice to Jersey City's "See, Click, Fix" page and they have responded that this is a problem for NJDOT.
Thank you.
