Sidewalk DamageReconocido106 Sky View Circle Hamden, Connecticut - HamdenThe sidewalk in front of our house has a gap between 2 blocks that is larger than normal, and are uneven. One is about an inch higher, and I tripped and fell from it today while pushing my infant in a stroller. God forbid I was wearing her, she could have been killed had I fallen. This needs to be fixed, whether there’s a cement slope added to bridge the gap/height difference, or something. Very dangerous. -

As shown in the picture, the first section has caused several injuries to pedestrians and previous attempts at temporary repairs have failed creating a dangerous section of the sidewalk. The section section adjacent to the first is experiencing severe cracking which will soon devolve to the condition of the first section. -

I believe it was dug up during a tree removal in early 2021, and we have been waiting for a repaired sidewalk ever since. We were told by the previous owners that the city was aware of this ~14 months ago, but that seems to not be the case. Thank you in advance!

It's a hazard for people walking. It's a hazard for children that live in the neighborhood. It's a hazard for elderly people! I can't even imagine how she managed to shovel snow in the winter. It's s absolutely disgraceful that a complaint/report was made in 2021 and it's now 2024, and this is still sitting there!! It's still broken worse than I've ever seen its unacceptable! -
Sidewalk RepairReconocido90 Chester St Hamden, CT, 06514, USA - HamdenReported defective sidewalk July 2015, inspector was sent out & sidewalk was placed on repair list. 5 YEARS LATER, in April 2020 , followed up with second call & request made for repair AGAIN since sidewalk getting worse. Followed up with email to “Caesar” in Oct. 2020 & received no responses either time. Yesterday , April 10,2024, I tripped & fell in front of my house sustaining injury to Right foot. Photos of sidewalk in front of my house at 90 Chester St. AND photo of my foot included. I suggest you put this sidewalk on emergency repair . NINE YEARS is TOO LONG TO WAIT , especially considering we have one of the highest mill rates in the state. Cynthia Coco
