    Blake and Valley dangerous intersection
  • Nicoll St & Willow St New Haven, CT, 06511, USA - East Rock
There is a VERY dangerous intersection as you cross Willow St on Nicoll. Cars are coming off the highway and going fast over the hill. I have almost gotten hit many times. The city has placed the "Pedestrian walk" signs there but they get stolen, broken or moved within a day or two. PLEASE install a flashing light or permanently install the "Pedestrian walk" signs.

254 Front St New Haven, CT, 06513, USA - Chatham Square
The stop sign on Front Street looking at Lewis St. is completely ignored by drivers, including SCHOOL BUS DRIVERS! This needs to be fixed, either by putting in a pedestrian raised crosswalk or high fine tickets
  • 240 Livingston St New Haven CT 06511, United States - East Rock
A vehicle crashed into the fence around the park with such speed it is actually stuck on the fence. The traffic calling measures at this intersection are clearly not adequate. No one was hurt but a pedestrian easily could have been hit.

Speed Humps are needed on Ellsworth Ave. Between Whalley and Goffe Terrace. We have many children and a school on the stretch of street, and drivers seem to see how fast they csn get to the stop light. Please advise what I need to do to put in a request for at least two speed humps?
  • Lawrence St & Orange St New Haven, CT, 06511, USA - East Rock

Just saw another biker hit by a car at this intersection. Had to call an ambulance. Thanks to the city fire department for their quick response.

Visibility is limited with the curbside parking all the way up to the intersection. The flashing red and yellow does a poor job of communicating right of way. This makes the intersection dangerous, especially for the man who was hit by a car today.

4 way stop or red-green-yellow light, lit up crosswalk, blocking off parking in a few spaces to increase visibility. Anything to improve safety for bikers, pedestrians, and drivers alike. It could quite literally save a life.

  • 40 Alden Ave New Haven, CT 06515, USA - Westville
I've had this problem since the road was repaved two years ago. Water pools up and then freezes causing a hazard. It can not drain because the street is now higher.
  • 250-358 Ellsworth Ave New Haven, CT, 06511, USA - Beaver Hills
A child is in the hospital with serious injuries from being hit by a car on Ellsworth Avenue between Whalley and Golfe. For years I have been posting warnings about the speeders on this block. I said some child crossing the street at the yeshiva here is going to get hit. I have begged for a crosswalk, a crossing signal, speed bumps, speeding tickets -- anything! Nothing is ever done. Now a child is fighting for his life.
  • 217–227 Sherman Ave New Haven CT 06511, United States - Edgewood
Four months ago the city added preliminary markings for crosswalks at Edgewood and Sherman, along with most other intersections down Edgewood. Since then, nothing has been completed. Four months is an extremely long time for a project slated to be finished before the Sept start of the school year.
  • 20 Church St New Haven, CT, 06510, USA - Town_Green
There is a 4"+ pipe projecting above road surface in middle lane, before Crown Street.
  • 317–343 Edgewood Ave New Haven CT 06511, United States - Edgewood
Another near catastrophic accident today at the intersection of Winthrop and Edgewood. Two cars barely missed each other. It's been 10 months since this light was installed and it is still not turned on. Please please please prioritize finishing this project.

    Crosswalk safety concern--
Automobile traffic often fail to yield to pedestrians/bikes waiting at either the start of the crosswalk or actively crossing the crosswalk in both day and night conditions. Cars often speed through that intersection, resulting in numerous close calls and an especially precarious crossing environment for a high volume of vulnerable road users daily. Only sometimes (less during winter months) there are two reflective "State law Yield to Ped within Crosswalk" signs that usually sit on the median of College St at each edge of the crosswalk, on either side of Wall St. But these reflective median signs are often moved out of place, removed, or neglected. Additionally, there are street signs with a pedestrian figure icon on the sidewalk for each side of traffic respectively, but they are recessed far back from the street, often blocked by parked cars, blocked by the adjacent tree, and bent facing the wrong way. I also believe part of the problem may have to do with vehicles speeding from both Grove and Elm St intersections, and, with lines of parked cars on either side of the road and obstructing the view of the shoulder and sidewalk (and non-visible crosswalk markers), are not expecting there to be an active crosswalk at the Wall St entrance along College St. I respectfully request additional infrastructure/design considerations for this crosswalk.
