    This property has been vacant for a year, and the grass is over four feet tall. We have seen rats, deer (possibly deer ticks?), and snakes in the yard, crawling into the street and neighboring yards. Calls to West Mifflin Borough in April have gotten us nowhere. I was told that I was not the first person to call to complain and was assured the Building Inspector would visit the next day. It is now mid August and the grass and weeds are still growing and we are seeing more rodents. It is a health hazard living in the area. PLEASE help!

    This road is a total mess. It is worse than pot holes. They tore the road up yrs ago and never did repair it properly. Their are patches on top of patches. Most of the residence on this street are elderly, I am surprised none of them have been injured (back, neck ) just traveling to and from their homes on this street. It is a shame tax paying residence have to live under these conditions. My parents are both in their 70's. My father has had 2 heart attacks and 2 strokes. My Mother has just undergone her sencond cancer removal and is now receiving chemo. If a ambulance had to get there, they would not be able to drive the speed limit due to the condition of this street. I wonder if God forbid anything does happen to my parents, or anyother resident on that street which is life threatening and the ambulance is slowed to assist them due to the condition of the street, could the borough of west mifflin be held liable ? I am asking that you all take a camera crew down this street and try and drive the speed limit. My parents are not filing this complaint, I am their daughter who has had to travel this road 3 to 4 times a week to help take care of them, take them to the store, dr's etc. I can only imagine what driving on this road daily is doing to peoples vehicles. I'm sure my truck is going to need a front end alignment because of traveling on this street. Sorry about the ear full, after leaving there tonight I am just totally disgusted.

    Where they joined the bridge to the road its like a huge speedbump. I ride a motorcycle over it twice a day and it is terrible! Its like a speedbump in the middle of the road! Why cant they smooth this out?
    *********update 01/12/10 Well, no improvemnet at all so far...perhaps due to weather. With the weather turned snowy I am driving it every day now in my car and its just as bad in the car....a huge bang every morning when I hit it.

    Come on PA....please fix this!

    On Century Drive, in front of Sam's club , approaching Walmart in West Mifflin, there is a very large and very deep pothole.

    My family and I were traveling this road today on our way to Walmart and hit this pothole on January 15th, 2011, resulting in a ruined tire and wheel on our vehicle.

    We estimate the pothole to be 8-10" deep and about 2 feet by 4 feet in size.

    We complained about the pothole at both Walmart and Sam's club and the managers at both locations said that they have repeatedly complained to West Mifflin Borough and nothing has been done about it.

    The damage to our vehicle so far is adding up to $100 for a new tire and $300 for a new (stock) rim on our 2006 Hyundai Sonata. The tire that was ruined was just a year old. We also have to have the vehicle looked at to see if any front end damage was done.

    Who is responsible for this road?

    The whole stretch of 837 / kenny wood blvd from kennywood down to the gulf station at the bridge has historically been a bad deer area....and yet the state still has not fixed the lack of lighting issue. They need to add way more lighting so that at least a motorist has a chance to see the danger. Its as dark as a backwoods country road. There are a few lights but not nearly enough for the speed of the traffic and the terrain the road goes through.
