166 Epping Road Lane Cove West New South Wales - Lane Cove
There is no control of vehicles entering and exiting the Meriton Arise apartments that cross the bike path (and pedestrian footpath) along Epping Road.
At the moment, there are not even any stop signs or warning signs for vehicles exiting the apartments. For vehicles entering there are some totally inadequate caution signs along Epping Road indicating that there are cyclists and pedestrians (see attached).
With only some of the apartments occupied I have already been involved in one, and witnessed another, near miss between an exiting vehicle and a cyclist. Vehicles habitually enter or exit without stopping or even slowing down. Either they all assume that they have right-of-way across the bike path, do not look, or do not anticipate that cyclists can easily be travelling at 30 km/hr or more along that stretch.
The situation will almost inevitably result in injury or death as hundreds of tenants occupy the buildings in the near future. This is potentially extremely dangerous.
9/9/16 update: There is now a Stop sign on the exit, but most vehicles are ignoring it. Most are now stopping on and blocking the bike path while waiting to turn on to Epping Road. I have witnessed several more near misses since I posted this and there are far more vehicles entering and exiting as residents are moving in.

60 Epping Road Lane Cove, New South Wales - Lane CoveThis section of cycleway is a known cyclist blackspot. Both pedestrians and cars do not follow or are ignorant of the requirements. Following much thought and personal close calls and the many accidents on this cycleway, I have figured a way to help car drivers to giveway, stop at the footpath/cycleway as they exit streets along this corridor or even exit the regularly deadly BP service station. I believe that the cycleway non-slip green paint with the required white stopline needs to be placed across all driveways and sidestreets along this corridor. Drivers are just not aware of the existance of the cycleway and are happy to charge over it or just park upon it as they wait for a break in traffic. This would create an obvious feature that will reduce the risk currently presented to cyclists. The vision into some of these streets is restricted so much that you do not see the danger until you are practically in its way.
