Property Damage issue resulting from drivers that are waiting for pickup at nearby school. They jump the asphault and end up driving through the lawn damaging the properties... This is an ongoing issue that is causing major damage. The residents are Jamie Salgado at 1492 Quinniapic Ave and Peter Selnick at 1488 Quinniapic Ave.

They seem like very decent people that just want this to stop. They both agree that placing a higher barrier such as a curbed sidewalk as opposed to the asphault would be better.

Please do something immediately - Lydia of City of New Haven TT&P

  • Corner Of Sherman And George Streets New Haven, Connecticut - West River

You have to be on the corner of George and Sherman where the Pinsky Law office is

Or the light will not change. Nobody knows to do that. So this is extremely dangerous as there are children that use this intersection.

Sheldon Terrace New Haven, Connecticut - Prospect Hill

I have paid my ticket, however I would like to inform you that the signs you put on Sheldon terrace are not helpful. The one that they had in the picture was not seen because it was between 2 garbage cans—especially driving in, unseen because it is far too small. And the only other sign was at the very end of the street. Bigger signs that are more obvious would be helpful especially for people who do not live in New Haven, but work driving and parking all day. Very frustrated with your whole process and how rude both the officer and the towing company which just dropped my car in front of me from about 3 feet off the ground. Not a good look for the community.

I am writing this e mail seeking resolution of a potentially dangerous issue that has been going on for “Two Years”.

Namely the traffic light sequence at Townsend Avenue/ Main Street and Forbes Ave.

There are several issues that can be resolved with simple adjustments:

1- The timing for green on Main compared to Townsend is way too long (biased on Main). Most of the time the traffic backs up Townsend for several blocks, especially during the summer months, causing folks to become frustrated and trying to turn-around on Townsend or drive through the Shell station on the corner which causes a potential dangerous situation.

2- Driving up Townsend from Forbes Avenue there is a green light sequence which is literally 3-4 seconds long, again making drivers frustrated and attempting to drive through the intersection at the end of a very short green light. ( Don’t the people who time the lights see this. ????).

3- Also, this same light initiates a 17 second all points red even though there is no one at the cross-walk
which add further frustration to the drivers especially if the next green sequence as noted in 2 is for 3-4 seconds.

4- When coming down Townsend to turn left on Main the light is green both ways “then” adds a green left hand arrow which causing disruption in the traffic flow. It should sequence left arrow green “before” it goes all green both ways. The left arrow sequence from Forbes to Townsend is correct.

5- When going north on Townsend the light at Forbes is red but the light at Main is green. The traffic moves up but gets stuck at the intersection (very dangerous) because the traffic is backed up at the red light at Forbes. The light at Forbes should turn green for a period of time before the light at Townsend turns green to allow cars to flow through and not block the intersection.

I have been discussing this issue with Al Paolillo ( State Representative) for over two years. He has advised that he has contacted the head of Traffic multiple times with no corrections. Why ??

Can someone with authority and knowledge to fix this issue please engage and execute a resolution in a timely manner.

    Thank you.

4 years ago the city was supposed to cut down a tree on Mechanic Street in front of a residents house. It was cut but not correctly. That tree is now an ugly OVERGROWN Bush.

ALSO, between Mechanic and Granite Ave, there are trees that were cut and pieces were thrown in front of these properties which is absolutely obsurd.

  • Autumn To Corner Of Canner Street New Haven, Connecticut - East Rock

    Hello,

I am a homeowner on Autumn Street. It is a daily problem to inch out and make the turn onto Canner Street (which is a heavily trafficked street), without hitting an oncoming car.

Because cars park along Canner Street, it decreases visibility, but when they park beyond the "No Parking Here to Corner" signs, it makes it impossible.

I was responsible for getting these signs placed many years ago now, but, naturally, there are folks who ignore them. I have called on numerous occasions, and, I have been told that someone would come out to ticket the offender. This seems to, usually, minimize the infractors.

However, I called Traffic the other day, because a blue Audi wagon (CT Lic. # 6AU 5G9) was parked there for an extended period, and about two feet out from the curb, making matters worse.

I don't know if the person was ever ticketed, but the car is there again this morning. It has been there, so far, for about two hours.

PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE do something before there is another huge accident there!!!!!

And while you're there, please re-plant the "No Parking Here to Corner" sign on Autumn Street that fell during one of the storms.

Please confirm that you have received this email, and that you have acted upon this. I am a busy person and don't have time for these incessant phone calls. Nevertheless, I am committed to pursuing this.

    Thank you.
