    Hi,

I previously reported a nonfunctional pedestrian crosswalk at the corner of James and Humphrey streets, and it was reported as fixed. However, the issue has actually not been resolved. The pedestrian crosswalk still does not function if you are standing next to the elementary school. I’ve waited with my child for several light changes for the walk signal to flash, and it still does not turn on. The pedestrian light and diagonal cross only come on if you are standing at the corner in front of the laundry mat. However I cannot comment on my previous report because the commenting has been closed.

    Thank you,
    Alexys Heffernan

There is no actual sidewalk between the District building at 470 James St. and the DDS building at 370 James St. Parking spots have been painted on the road, increasing pedestrian traffic in this area, including by families visiting the elementary school on the opposite corner. In addition, the curb alongside the road is full of tall growing weeds, trash, and debris that is unsightly, unsafe, and must be walked through to access the parking.

The pedestrian signal and diagonal cross for pedestrians in front of Elm City Elementary School at the corner of James St. and Humphrey St. is not functioning. Students and parents are forced to cross the street when traffic is turning through the crosswalk.
