Another jaywalker makes dangerous crossing (pt. 2)

I totally agree with this - for a downtown area, this is far too long of a stretch not to have a crosswalk. Just go and paint one, please!

Considering that only a about 200 feet away, everything comes to a halt with the complex intersection at Trumbull and Whitney, this one is a no-brainer. Especially with SOM rising in a few years, this is going to have an order of magnitude more people traffic around it. If NH really wants to enforce this as a 25mph zone, then making crosswalks across this area will help do that.

There you will find a “Complete Streets Manual” and “Project Request Form”. The entire program is developed around improving New Haven’s streets in order to provide safer and more convenient access to a greater number of transportation modes. This issue is a good example of the types of ideas that fall under the “Complete Streets” scope.

Currently there is a proposal going through the process for improvements at Bradley and State St for curb bump outs and traffic lights. This may be worth noting in the proposal for the other end of Bradley.
