Per Public Works: This portion of no parking was approved by City Council in 2008. While most residential streets are not wide enough for parking on both sides, the continuous breaks for driveways and intersections keeps the parking staggered. This portion of Mackinac has a large section of no “breaks” due to the park and the greenway easement. Parking has been limited to one side only because a fire truck would be unable to get through if cars were parked on both sides. Hope this explanation helps, and please note that parking is allowed along the west side of Mackinac and the City has no information regarding the neighborhood parking lot being locked.
