I've been there in the last month and haven't seen this mess. They are in the process of moving into this location from across the street, but the city has been slowing them down. Blame our lack of law enforcement /strict laws and our slow illegal dumping enforcement and clean up first.
This isn’t in the digital copy lot, it’s in the alley right next to it-next to the car shop. It’s national alley right next to central automotive shop.
I agree, but extremely stiffer penalties and enforcement would help discourage these trashy people. I have reported with complete proof with pictures/license plates etc. and had to keep asking the police to act on it and they didn't seem interested in the least.
The city changed the penalty from a infraction to a misdemeanor. "Illegal dumping is a misdemeanor offense and carries a penalty of up to six months in jail and/or a $1,000 fine."
F.A.B.Vallejo: Try talking to Officer Gomez, he is heading the iDeal Vallejo Illegal Dumping Program. He was hired specifically to investigate and help prosecute. Why he did not respond to this, I have no idea. You definitely need to bring this to his attention. And if it's true that they are not acting on evidence provided by citizens, then we need to look at restructuring the dept. and get the budget money to a working solution.
Jail more than a few days is not the solution when this isn't a violent crime and they have a job unless they let them out for work. They should have a huge amount of community work and fines and if a vehicle is involved a suspended license and vehicle confiscated. No tolerance is what the message should be. 1000.00 fine doesn't do that. I would be even more extreme for repeat offenders with sterilization which I know will not happen. They should also have to take a class on personal responsibility etc.. The person whom we had complete evidence of dumping with their vehicle in which the police were just acting like we were bothering them was just before they started this new task force. There is plenty of evidence of the homeless leaving trash behind when they are kicked out of there trash encampments. That should be considered illegal dumping.
