A car accident yesterday (9 July 08) at this intersection was the result of a driver speeding through a red light. Police need to crack down on these violations in order to stop these accidents.

This is a perfect intersection to apply some of the traffic calming designs suggested in the Fair HAven Charrettte, as part of the Safe Streets campaign.

Police won't crack down on this until they are forced to stop doing it themselves... starts to seem like there isn't sufficient political will for that

Hopefully the traffic calming on Edwards Street has helped somewhat. Now the city needs to work on the reconfiguration of Whitney Avenue, which is extremely problematic.

I completely agree - the other day a car drove right through the flashing red at the other end of Edwards where it meets Orange.
