When will Vallejo figure out that there is no incentive to stop this - without enforcement. Please change the disposition of not pursuing/fining violators. At some point we have to be feed up with that attitude. The City will have to put forth some effort with the City Attorney. The theory that it costs less to just have it cleaned by the City Grounds Crew as apposed to the legal costs of finding and fining violators is not working for the residents of Vallejo. It shouldn't just be law of the jungle out there. And as far as neighborhood volunteer cleanup that you have offered - what's my incentive to clean something up that won't stay that way. Offering free garbage bags to the neighborhood is not the answer we want to hear.
This may be why this particular case is assigned to code enforcement rather then to the trash pickup crew. Maybe they're hoping to figure out which house it came from. Having the transfer station out halfway to Napa on 29 doesn't help much. I believe there are many issues and solutions. City Council is probably the best place to start. City staff hopefully will just do what they're told. And we need to tell City Council what we want the staff to do.
Thank you for reporting! A Code Enforcement Officer has now been assigned to inspect the possible violation(s). You may visit eTRAKiT, our online tracking system, to view current case information for the Code Violations online at http://web.ci.vallejo.ca.us/eTRAKiT3/ (please allow several business days for the information to upload). SeeClickFix is one of the many tools available to the citizens of Vallejo to report non-emergency issues. We “close” an issue in SeeClickFix once we've acknowledged the complaint; however, this issue is not "Closed" per se; it will remain an "Open" case with us until it is corrected. If there is anything else we can assist you with, please let us know. Thank you for using SeeClickFix!
What is the case number in eTRAKiT? Searching on address doesn't always work well because sometimes the address is incorrect and partial search only returns 100 records. And sometime the address is put in as Benicia Rd and sometimes Benicia Road. Wildcards don't work well either (i.e. 9* Benicia)
Also, why was the case assigned to code enforcement rather than the trash pickup crew? Because the bulk of it is on private property?
Thank you for reporting, the complaint has been assigned to Code Enforcement officer Lorena Burciaga. A case has not been opened yet at this time, I am unable to give a case number. Please continue to check back with us the case should be opened very soon. The dumping has occurred on private property, that is why code enforcement will hold the property owner responsible. Thank you for using seeclickfix!
